...the weather was not in our favour.  We tried biking on the second day but got absolutely soaked and the arctic wind chilled us to the bone, even with lots of layers on and raincoats!. However, the bikes were fantastic, and the cycle lanes we did go on were well sign posted and would have made for a great two days. ...The Netherlands is a great country to bike through, especially for folks who do not like cycling on busy roads.  I regret not leaving one week earlier (ex.  end of April or first start of May) as we came at the very tale end of the tulips.  However, the weather was relatively good, everything was in bloom, the air was full of wonderful fragrants and bird calls, and everywhere you look, nature lovers are treated to some fine landscaping...
